TTT: Spring 2019 TBR

JXOTVDUM
Top Ten Tuesday was started by The Broke and the Bookish, and was taken over by That Artsy Reader Girl in 2018.

This week on Top Ten Tuesday, we are discussing my Spring TBR list! Which is always terrifying, especially as I look at the winter books I still need to pop out some updates for. So let’s go ahead and take a look, shall we? Full disclosure, my TBR list is generally a healthy amount of ARCs that I need to get through while also reading something else at the same time.

(Also for the sake of not freaking myself out, I didn’t include anything podcast related.)

Nancy Drew: The Palace of Wisdom by Kelly Thompson with art by Jen St. Onge

I am all excited for Nancy Drew updates, particularly ones that are modern and Nancy is modern. (Looking at you, 2006 Nancy Drew movie.) And the fact that the Hardy Boys show up in issue 1?! I am all for this team up. Why is there tension between our girls? What mystery are we going to solve? Can this just continue to be an ongoing that never stops? I am so glad I got an ARC of this trade, and I cannot wait to read it.

April Fools by Jess Lourey

I’ll admit, I haven’t read the last 11 of this series. But the great thing about cozy mysteries is that you don’t have to have read the previous books to not enjoy the one you pick up. I picked up a few ARCs of cozy mysteries a few weeks ago, in a mood for them definitely, and I’ll be excited to cross this off my list. The book is out April 1st, which is just too cute.

Killer in Me by Olivia Kiernan

This one is a slight cheat – I am currently reading it. But it is an ARC, and I think it’s definitely worth talking about. Plus, the title constantly makes me think of the Smashing Pumpkins song, and that is never a bad thing. This book comes out on April 2nd and should be on your TBR if you like thrillers and crime books, especially ones by Irish authors.

Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan

Okay, so, I have had this ARC since NYCC. And I stood in line for it for a long while, because the cover is just absolutely gorgeous. But when I started it, it didn’t quite grab me?  Still, it comes out April 2nd, and I definitely plan on giving it another shot. It’s YA, it’s got Gods, and it’s supposed to be very dark.

Middlegame by Seanan McGuire

Speaking of Gods, here’s another book related to them! I have been waiting for this book for EVER. Okay, since September 2018. Basically, since it was announced. LOOK at that cover! Plus, I just adore McGuire. This book comes out May 7th, and I won a copy of an ARC in 24in48! UPS lost it, but it’s all worked out in the end. Either way, I am itching to tear through all the books above this one so I can live in this world.

The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab

This new rereleased hardback is GORGEOUS. Titan sent me a copy to review, and it came with a temporary tattoo that I am seriously considering turning into a real tattoo. I know this is loosely a fairy tale, I know it has a witch, and I know it is by Schwab. There isn’t anything more I need to know! This book originally came out in 2011, and was rereleased in March 2019!

Next Girl to Die by Dea Poirier

I am honestly not sure how this book ended up on my list, but it’s a murder mystery? So I am game. It’s another one of my ARCs (I know, I need to figure out how to tame my temptation on adding these to my list) and it comes out May 1st. It’s the start of a series!

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

This is another book I have been itching to get my hands on since it was announced. I have read two other Taylor Jenkins Reid books, and I have yet to be disappointed. My favorite reviewer didn’t particularly enjoy it, so I am a little weary, but I know I am in either way. It is about a fictional band, and that is about all I know about it! Out March 2019.

Enchantee by Gita Trelease

The cover. France. Historical Fiction. Goodreads Giveaway Winner. All the reasons why this book is on my Spring TBR. It is currently on its way to my apartment, and I cannot wait to see the cover up close and in person! Out February 2019.

Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield

Diane Setterfield wrote one of my favorite books – The Thirteenth Tale. I have her second book, which I should read at some point, and I also have an ARC of this book. Unfortunately due to my quick obsession with Outlander at the end of last year, most of my ARCs slid off my radar. But I can imagine a wonderfully atmospheric book with a delicious mystery. Out December 2018.

Voyager by Diane Gabaldon

11 is a cheat, but since one of my books I AM currently reading, I decided I should add on book three of my current obsession. This beast of a book is definitely begging to be opened soon so I can see how long it is before Claire and Jamie are reunited! Plus, it is Droughtlander, and what better way to spend that time than reading an Outlander sequel?

I definitely have my work cut out for me this spring!! What is on your list? Have any of my books caught your interest?

    1. Some how this ended up in my spam – I am so sorry! I have Daisy Jones on both ebook and audiobook at the moment and I am very excited to experience it cross platform.

Oh, that would be good! I am almost done with the audiobook and I am so addicted to it. I am going to be sad when it’s over.

    My Top Ten Tuesday post.

  3. Good list, I’ll look forward to your review of Daisy Jones and the Six. I still haven’t read The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hugo but it’s high on my to-read pile!
